Domaine de Grand Pré is truly a family story, built on a love for Nova Scotia and a passion for great wine and food. Back in 1994, our father, Hanspeter Stutz, took a leap of faith and believed that something special could grow here. With vision and determination, he set out to create not only a world-class winery, but also a place where his family could build a future together and share it with others.
Arriving from Switzerland, Hanspeter established Domaine de Grand Pré winery with the help of his son Jürg, a Swiss-trained winemaker. Now retired, Hanspeter has passed the reins to the next generation. Beatrice has taken over her Dad's position, ensuring the winery’s continued success, while Chef Jason Lynch, continue to deliver an exceptional culinary experience, showcasing locally sourced ingredients with creativity and care. Jürg leads the wine making team, whose deep passion for winemaking drives him to craft wines that reflect Nova Scotia’s unique terroir. Cäcilia manages Marketing and ensuring memorable experiences on-site. Hanspeter’s partner, Anna, is creating stunning gardens throughout the grounds, shaping the warm and welcoming atmosphere that Domaine de Grand Pré is known.
It was in 2000, after years of thoughtful renovation, that we first opened our hearts and doors as Domaine de Grand Pré. We’ve been welcoming visitors and delivering a Nova Scotia wine experience like none other ever since.
