In 2017, as an experiment, we planted Cabernet Franc in our Melanson Vineyard. We harvested our first vintage in '21 and while the yield was small, the grapes showed tremendous potential. The wine was matured in French oak for 18 months resulting in a beautiful Cabernet Franc which expresses an elegant mix of dried cherry, crushed violets, pepper and tomato leaf with a long, satisfying finish. Well-balanced with a medium body and rich tannins. Only one barrel was produced making it a rare wine to cherish - Jürg Stutz, Winemaker
It pairs great with all kinds of dishes, from a richer Salmon dish or chicken to even something with a bit more spice, like a vegetarian chilli or Thai food.
